Day Trip to Seattle

We've been talking about how I need to get down to Kelsey's place in Seattle because it's not that far away. So my mom, Kim and I planned a day to go down with all the kids and spend some time at the zoo together. And yesterday was the day!

We were able to fit 3 adults, 4 carseats, a double stroller and a lot of other stuff into the Yukon and drive to Kelsey's together...we met Kelsey at the Woodland Park Zoo and couldn't have asked for things to work out better! We ended up being right behind Kelsey when we got off the highway and were able to follow her right into the parking lot and park right next to her.

Our cousins Kat and Joey had a baby boy earlier in the week and we were hoping to stop by their place to meet him. Instead, they met us at the zoo so we could meet the little guy (he was 48 hrs old and absolutely adorable!) and then Kat's mom (Auntie Dar) and her little girl Ruby (who turned 2 in June) joined us for our zoo adventure.
Elias, Annaliese and Ruby (Annaliese wanted it to be 'Just kids. No adults.')

Our group: 5 adults, 6 kids, 3 strollers

 Checking out the tapir

The warthog- it was one of the few animals that was up and moving around...and when it started walking towards the glass, Annaliese panicked and all the kids clung to Auntie Dar! (and yes, the warthog is peeing...it peed for a really long time...by the time it was done, the kids had moved on!)

Touching a blue-tongued skink

Mallory pretended to want to touch the skink...but really just wanted the foam hand-washing soap!

Lunch break

 All worn out

After the zoo, we headed back to Kelsey's apartment for some pool time and an early dinner before heading home again.
