Thanksgiving

Mom and Dad hosted Thanksgiving this year and we planned on spending the entire day together! Kelsey had to work the night before so she came over to our house as soon as she got done with work so that she could have a quiet place to sleep, and as soon as we finished breakfast, we packed up everything we needed for the day and headed out!

We started the day off with a hike to Clayton Beach. Mom stayed home so that she could get the turkey in the oven and so that Lydia and Owen could both get good morning naps. It started off a bit rainy, but the sun ended up coming out and made for a nice hike! 

She wanted to write 'Happy Thanksgiving' but that was a bit too long...so she decided to do a happy face and a 'T' instead!

Back at Grandpa and Grandma's house, we grazed on a light lunch, followed by a variety of different activities. Some went for another walk since the sun came out, there was some crafting that happened, a bit of Thanksgiving meal prep, and some football-watching. Eventually, we let the kids all watch a movie and then sat down for a delicious turkey dinner. 

I can confidently say that everyone had a good day and nobody went hungry! And thanks to Ben for a majority of these pictures!! 

We all gathered back at Mom and Dad's house on Friday to celebrate Owen's 1st birthday. Since Josh and Amanda were up for Thanksgiving, Kelsey wanted to do Owen's party while they were still around.

A normal November

These first few weeks of November have been pretty uneventful. We haven't had much in the way of extra events, which has been okay! I thought I would get a few pictures up here before I get too far behind! Plus, with today being Thanksgiving and Annaliese's birthday coming up soon, I'm sure I will have more to write about in the coming days. 

I usually work Wednesdays and Grandma babysits the girls along with Malachi and Elias. This week was a little bit different and I had yesterday off, and with today being Thanksgiving, Mom wanted to finish a few things up at work and then get ready for today, so I watched Elias and Malachi. They had such a great time together! At one point, Malachi and Haleigh were both napping and Elias played with Lydia! It was adorable!!

I try to get up at 6:30 every day and have a few moments to myself...Haleigh will frequently get up and join me. She loves to get out her Precious Moments Bible and climb up on the couch to do Bible Study together!

Halloween 2017

I am not much of a Halloween fan, but when you have little girls who like to dress up, it's hard not to do anything at all! Annaliese requested to be 'a rainbow unicorn with wings and a mermaid tail' and since Mallory wanted to be the same thing, Auntie Kelsey made them their costumes! And she did a stellar job, I might add!!

Haleigh decided to be Dorothy, from The Wizard of Oz, because she already had sparkly red shoes and that seemed perfect! She made a super cute little Dorothy!

Lydia went as Minnie Mouse, minus the Minnie Mouse ears, and she was also pretty cute!

We started our Halloween activities off by going to the Harvest Fall Festival on Friday evening at Birchwood Presbyterian Church. They had crafts, games, a bounce house, a cake walk, a cardboard maze, candy, and more candy! We went with Kim, Thane, Kelsey, and Grandma and all the cousins. They all had a good time!

On Saturday, Kyle and I dressed up as Bert and Mary Poppins and went to my work Halloween Party! Because I'm on the Float Pool Practice Council, Kyle and I arrived early to help set up a few last minute decorations.

While we were at the party, the girls spent the night at Grandpa and Grandma's house. The plan was to go trick-or-treating in Fairhaven, but they arrived only to realize that it wasn't actually until Tuesday. Oops! I guess we read that wrong. At least they had fun dressing up!

On Tuesday, which was actually Halloween, I had to work, but Kyle dressed the girls up and took them out trick-or-treating through the neighborhood.
