Spring Break- Part 1

The first few days of Spring Break were filled with a little bit of homework, Easter, and getting ready for a trip to Texas.

Haleigh had to work on her science project, which included testing out different chocolates to see which kind works the best for chocolate covered strawberries. Initially, she had hoped to use the chocolate fountain that she received for her birthday, but we decided that since we weren't very good at using it yet, there were too many variables involved! (And that thing takes a LONG time to clean!) So instead, she melted the chocolate in the microwave and we were all able to sample the different kinds of strawberries! The final project is due next week, so I'll add a photo of the final poster once it's done!

All the supplies!

Easter Sunday we went to church. They had an Easter breakfast, followed by the service, an Easter Egg Hunt, and a mini petting zoo.

Monday was spent packing and cleaning for Spring Break-Part 2!

March Wrap-up

Looking back through my photos, I realized I had a little catching up to do here!

In between President's Day and Mid-Winter Break, we had a little excitement around our house! Living at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, we don't often see much activity, but one Monday night we had 4 Lynden police cars, a state trooper, and a kid on an e-bike all come racing down the street. The kid on the e-bike got tangled up in the bushes on the side of the house, dropped his bike and ran. One of the police officers forgot to put his car all the way into Park as he hopped out to chase the kid and his car hopped the curb and came to a stop at our front porch!

Haleigh wrapped up her first season of basketball. From a parent perspective, it was a frustrating season to watch. While the team definitely improved on defense, there wasn't much taught about how to operate on offense! But, Haleigh had fun and said she wants to keep playing.

And here are a few more pictures from some of the other things that we had during March!

I made this sweater for Lydia!

The 6th Grade Musical- The Bumble Bee-Attitudes

Lydia's gymnastics class had a showcase where they showed off all the things they've been learning.

And that about wraps up the month of March! Busy with all the activities, but so fun as well!
