It's that time of the year again when the Fair is happening just a mile away from our house! This year I had planned on only going once (on Sunday) but Kim and the boys were going on Friday and the girls really wanted to go with their cousins. I agreed to take them as long as they could get all of their chores done!
Since it's so close, we decided to bike over and arrived just after 12. We wandered around a little bit, finding a few items for a scavenger hunt that we picked up when we walked in. We met up with Kim and the boys in time to watch the Flying Fools High Dive. Most of the time they were diving off a 3-meter springboard, but they also had several small platforms that they would dive off of. They were 20 ft, 30ft, and 80ft high! And they dove into a 10-foot deep pool! It was incredible and a bit nerve-wracking to watch.
We walked around and checked out the animals, watched a few people show their cows, watched another show called 'Cartoon Poodles' and looked at some of the collections and Lego creations. |
We had to find a quilt as part of the scavenger hunt...this was one of their favorites:) |

Our friend's bunnies! |

The Cartoon Poodles...there are 12 poodles on that car! They did various tricks like jumping through a hula-hoop, going doing a slide, and boxing with one another, to name a few! |

Elias and Malachi had ride passes for the carnival rides, but we opted not to do that this year. However, as we were getting ready to leave, someone handed Kim some extra ride tickets that they didn't want. And then Kim found another one on the ground that someone had dropped. Between them, we found enough tickets for each of the girls to go on one ride! They were super excited and had a hard time picking which ride to go on. Eventually, Haleigh and Annaliese decided to go on the big swings and Lydia picked the Elephant ride. Everyone was thrilled with the ride and had so much fun!

We did go back Sunday morning with Kyle for the Worship at the Fair service. Most of the churches in Lynden come together for the service, which is put together by multiple local churches. I think it's my favorite service of the whole year! But it's also one of the hottest days of the year and so we didn't stay for too long.
We stayed just long enough to find the pull-up bar so everyone could show off how many pull-ups they can do! (Except for me, because I already know I can't do any.) Annaliese did 5, Haleigh did 11, Lydia did 2, and Kyle did quite a few (but I don't remember how many.) |
