July 4 was on a Tuesday this year, which made for a very odd-feeling week, but we packed the day full of fun activities!
We started with a bike ride on the Fort-to-Fort Trail in Fort Langley, BC. We had no wait at the border which made for an excellent start to our day! We met Kim, Thane, Elias, Malachi, Grandpa, and Grandma at the trailhead and biked a total of 8km on a hilly, gravel trail along the Fraser River.

After eating lunch and biking a bit more on Brae Island (a little island in the middle of the Fraser River!) we headed to a nearby waterpark. We went last summer and everyone was very excited to be going back again! Kelsey, Mallory, and Owen were able to join us for this part of our day!

When we were done here, we packed up our stuff and headed to our next activity...a barbecue with our small group. We made it across the border in record time (there were NO other cars!) and after a quick stop at home headed over the Mitch and Elizabeth's house. We had a delicious dinner, played some games, and watched a few fireworks. Their neighbors always put on a good show; unfortunately, our crew needed to get to bed before the show really got started. But, we all had fun and it was such a great day! |
