The Beginning of Summer Vacation

As school came to an end, I had a hard time wrapping my mind around the fact that it was June and summer was here!!

The last day of school was a Thursday and I had to work so my mom picked up the kids. Grandpa and Grandma invited them to spend the night and then they surprised the girls with a ferry ride and trip to Friday Harbor...complete with donuts and ice cream!

On the ferry....it was a bit too windy to spend much time on the outside deck.

Kyle was able to finish working early one afternoon so we headed to Hovander Park for a bike ride. The girls are still surprised every time they see me riding a bike😀

Lydia had a hard time with this narrow path, but once we were passed this, she rode almost every thing else!

We've also had a few fun days spent with cousins, went strawberry picking, and finished putting up the swingset (although I didn't take many pictures of these things!)
Rainy days mean finding creative ways to still be outside...

These two found a recipe for peanut butter cookies and made them all on their own!

Lydia's first haircut...more of a trim, really.

Father's Day hike (while I was home sleeping/working all weekend) along the Nooksack River.

When you've been wanting a new bike but they've been out of stock everywhere and you finally find the one you want...you buy it! Kyle's new bike😀
