It's hard to believe that it's the middle of June and we are on summer vacation! This past year, while a bit different, was so good in so many ways. All three girls were in person, all year long, and, as far as I know, nobody in their classes ever had Covid (until the last week!)
They all had fantastic teachers and it was so obvious how much they cared about the kids. I've tried to take a few pictures of some of the work that they've done, and have tried to save a few of the pictures that the teachers sent home.
Lydia: We had a few struggles along the way, but Teacher Lisa and Teacher Jana were excellent and together, Lydia was able to make it through the year. She had a tendency to get really sad about halfway through the day and would become slightly irrational. Eventually, a sticker chart and ice cream dates convinced her that it was much better to be happy and a good listener all day long. Despite that, Lydia loved going to school and woke up every morning asking if it was a school day! She loved show-and-tell and learned all about counting, colors, and shapes.

Haleigh: Haleigh loved school! She would talk and talk about some of the things she was learning and used English and Spanish interchangeably. She didn't speak up much in class, but she up for it at home. It is so neat to hear her trying to read and actually be interested in reading! There was an open house at school a few weeks ago, and Kyle was able to go and see her room and some of her work.

All ready for the last day of school! |
Annaliese: Annaliese wrapped up third grade; she loves to read and write and has pretty incredible handwriting for a third grader! She wrote some fun stories and I came across some fun artwork too. Her teachers are very creative, so they would often create things out of playdoh or use leaves/sticks/whatever they could find in nature.
Senor Beroterran sent home newsletters periodically with pictures of the kids working.

We are so grateful for all of the girls' teachers and classmates. It is obvious that they love these kids so much and put so much into them all year!
We wrapped things up with an end-of-the-year party hosted by Asher's family out at Lake Whatcom. It was so fun to be able to catch up with everyone.
