6 Years Old!

Annaliese is six years old! She has been counting down until her birthday for weeks! And now she keeps reminding everyone that she is six! On Saturday, which was her actual birthday, she told me that she made her bed sitting on her knees because "now that I'm six, I might hit my head on the ceiling if I stand up!"

I asked her a few questions about some of her favorite things. I'm not quite sure she understands what 'favorite thing' means because I was rather surprised by most of her answers!

Favorite food: Cheese pizza
Favorite color: Pink and purple
Favorite thing to wear: My fox and dog dress that I just got
Favorite thing to do at school: Play with my friends and be nice to them
Favorite thing to play: Play Sorry!

Here are a few other noteworthy things about this stage of life

Sleeping: Annaliese goes to bed around 7:30pm and sleeps until about 7:00am. I think she would sleep later if she could, but she doesn't usually get the chance...either because she has to get up for school or because Haleigh thinks she should be awake! She likes to sleep with her blankie and Ruffy, her white stuffed dog. I occasionally find her sucking her thumb at night as well, although this is a habit we are trying to break.

Teeth: Annaliese hasn't lost any teeth yet, but she has a loose one!

Clothing: Most of her clothes are still 5T. Some of the pants are starting to get a little bit short but it depends on what brand they are! Annaliese is wearing shoe sz 11 but I don't think it will be too long before she fits into sz 12. (We'll see...she wore her new boots from Papa and Gigi to school today. They looked a little big, but she was convinced that they fit!)

Annaliese loves to wear dresses. She wears one almost every day (and gets upset if they are all dirty!) With the cooler weather, she now wears leggings with them, but she will still wear a sleeveless dress to school.

Activities: Annaliese loves to do homework, practice writing, draw and tell stories, do crafts and color pictures. She has her own spiral notebook and she has filled almost every page with drawings and words! She likes to practice writing her name and all of the names of the girls in her class at school. She will frequently be humming or singing at the same time. She still likes to ride her bike, but the weather hasn't been too conducive to doing that recently.

Annaliese is also a planner. Every night she likes to talk about the next day and what she is going to be doing. It's pretty common for her to talk about her friends and list off who will be doing what; she usually includes Lydia and Shelby on her list but rarely includes Haleigh!

School: Annaliese loves kindergarten and it has been so neat to hear her Spanish develop. I am constantly amazed at how much she is learning! She says her favorite part is playing with her friends, but according to her teacher, she also loves singing and doing math.
