"Out of the Box" dance performance

Annaliese and Haleigh have both been in dance class and their classes wrapped up for the summer last week. The dance studio put on a show, "Out of the Box," that they performed at the Mount Baker Theater downtown. Both of their classes have spent a significant amount of time preparing for this show and it was a lot of fun to see them up on stage! They didn't allow us to take any pictures during the show, but we were able to get a few during their rehearsal the day before and I've taken some throughout the year!

Haleigh's class was called Tiny Twirlers and was for 2-3 year olds. I think her favorite part of the class was jumping on the little trampoline at the very beginning of class each day! She has also figured out how to do a pliĆ© and will eagerly demonstrate it at any time! Her class danced to a song called ¨Teddy Bear Picnic" and it was super cute! Haleigh has come a long way since the beginning of class when she wouldn't let go of me and spent most of each class in tears! On the last day of class, each of the girls received a little award- Haleigh's was the Natural Performer award...her teacher, Mrs. V., said she always had a smile on her face!

Annaliese was in a pre-tap/pre hip-hop class. They did a tap routine to a Justin Timberlake song (I can't remember what it was called!) but she had a lot of fun as well! Annaliese's class also gave out awards; Annaliese received the 'kind-hearted hard worker' award. I also recently received an email with Annaliese's report card! Who knew they did such a thing:) It recommended that she stay in the same level class for next year!

Grandpa and Grandma, Auntie Kim and Elias were all able to come watch the girls perform. It was pretty fun to watch some of the older kids dance as well!

We went to Menchies for ice cream to celebrate afterwards!
