A 3-year-old Annaliese is a very energetic, usually very happy little girl! She is very observant, very curious, and very smart. She doesn't like to miss out on anything! She is learning how to exert her independence and prefers to do everything on her own:)
Sleeping: Annaliese goes to bed between 7:00-7:30pm. She sleeps with Tigger, her dog, Cat, Penguin, 2 blankies, and a water cup. She usually wakes up about 6:40 am to go to the bathroom and then goes back to her room until 7:30. She has a special alarm clock that turns green at 7:30 and she knows that she has to stay in her room until then! Now that she can reach her lightswitch, she usually turns the light on and is reading stories or playing quietly. Once it turns green, she comes into our room and lets us know that it is daytime and time to get up!
Napping: Annaliese still needs a nap every day, but she doesn't always cooperate. We try to keep her in her room for a little while at least, even if she is playing quietly by herself, otherwise she falls apart come dinnertime! If she does fall asleep, she usually sleeps for about 1 1/2 hrs.
Eating: Annaliese eats just about everything! Current favorites include tacos, chocolate milk, cottage cheese, turkey meat, and meatballs.
Clothes: Annaliese still wears mostly 2T pants; some of her 2T shirts fit, but they are getting to be a bit short and we are moving into 3T. She still squeezes her feet into her favorite sz 6 shoes, but sz 7 definitely fit better!
Activities: Annaliese is super active! She loves running, jumping, coloring, playing with Haleigh, doing her princess puzzles, dressing up in her princess dresses and going to the grocery store. She also likes to bake, read stories, do somersaults, look at pictures, and go to church.
Annaliese asked to feed Haleigh this morning. She set up the pillows and everything! Apparently Annaliese has a 'hands-off' approach to giving Haleigh her bottle!
Being potty-trained has its down-falls...sometimes you have to make a mad dash for the bathroom!
Last week, we had our first accidental phone call to 9-1-1. I was going to the bathroom and had Haleigh-bear and Annaliese playing in my room. Annaliese got up and went somewhere and it was strangely quiet. So I went and found her...playing with my phone. Which had been on the counter and meant that she had found her stool and brought it over to the counter in order to reach it. This was after several conversations this morning about not touching my phone. About 1 minute later, my phone rang and it was the 9-1-1 dispatcher calling to make sure everything was ok. I was in the process of carrying a not-too-happy 3-year-old into her bedroom for a timeout and was slightly out of breath. Apparently that sounded suspicious because about 20 minutes later the police showed up at our front door. Annaliese happily greeted them at the door. There were 2 officers and they looked at her and said, "Are you our culprit today?" to which she responded, "Yes. I used Mommy's phone." They said something about how everything looked okay and left; after closing the door, Annaliese looked at me and said, "See. Everything is okay. Those two people said so."
Other things that I might want to remember: Annaliese is a problem-solver. She will stack books or stand on a pillow or box in order to reach things. She has a stool that she carries all around the house as well. She loves to talk and sing songs! She most frequently gets in trouble for touching the phone or computer after she's been told not to do so.
