Camping with Feffer's and Prentice's

Every summer we try to get together with Adam and Ashlie and Russ and Jenn for a camping trip. It's becoming more adventurous each year as we add little kiddos to the mix!

This year we decided to stick close to home and go to Lopez Lake. It was super hot out (the car temp said 109) so we didn't get to do any hiking, but we spent time hanging out at the campsite, playing cornhole, and swimming in the lake.

Hanging out at the campsite

Snack time...Annaliese and Josephine eating Cheerios together

and feeding them to each other!

I think I may have overdressed Annaliese the first night...but she had this cute little fleece sleeper thing that I wanted to use! And I will add, she did sleep all night, so it mustn't have been too bad.

Annaliese and Kyle hanging out at the picnic table...we were in charge of Saturday morning breakfast so they were trying to keep busy and stay cool until the others woke up!

 Adam and Jo

Isn't she cute...she's about 2 weeks younger than Annaliese!

Giving hugs

Jenn and Holden didn't spend the night, so once they arrived Saturday morning, we packed things up and headed to the lake. I didn't take the camera, so I don't have any pictures of us swimming or our little hang-out spot:( Even with the shade, it was still very hot!

The guys making us lunch

Back at the campsite...look at that dirty face and tongue!

It was too hot to nap today...and Josephine and Annaliese both handled it very well. Annaliese was clearly very tired and didn't make it through dinner. And she apparently thought we were being too loud as well!

It was a fun, tiring weekend adventure and we're looking forward to doing it again next year!

Swimming Lessons!

Annaliese just started swimming lessons through a program called Baby-Seals. She goes 4 days/week, for 10 minutes each day, for 6 weeks. It's one-on-one with the instructor and the goal is to teach 'survival swimming.' This is a little video clip from her first day. I will try to take more pictures and videos as we progress, but I will be in the water with her a fair amount of the time.

Day 1 she did great...I was at work so Amy, the baby-sitter, brought her and Kyle met them at the pool. I guess Annaliese didn't cry at all and the instructor was impressed with how she did. I was able to go for day 2...and she cried and tried to suck her thumb every time she came up for air! Today I was in the water for the first time and Annaliese practiced swimming back and forth between me and the instructor. She did really well!! It's definitely a lot of work though, because we've gone from just needing one nap to needing two naps every day since our lessons started!

Father's Day!

We packed everything up into the truck...including Kyle's dirt bike...and headed to Grandpa and Grandma Gillette's house for Father's Day Weekend. We were excited to hear that it was only supposed to reach 96 degrees (as opposed to 106 like the previous weekend!)

Friday night we had a delicious dinner of mahi-mahi that Grandma Kelley prepared for us...dinner was followed by bath time in the kitchen sink.

Saturday we slept in (meaning we were all up by shortly after 7,) ate breakfast, and headed up to the cabin. Kyle and I haven't been there in awhile, so it was exciting to see all the new construction that's been going on.
Annaliese was very excited about all the rocks she found:)

 She's off exploring!

 Smelling the flowers

She looks to be pondering something...

Checking out the new bed in the bedroom upstairs

Kyle brought the dirt bike up to the cabin to ride around a bit

Apparently one of Grandma and Grandpa's favorite things to do while up at the cabin is use the bb gun to shoot an empty paint can...so we all gave it a try too!

Before lunch, Grandma, Annaliese and I headed home so Annaliese could get a normal nap; Kyle and Grandpa stayed up at the cabin and rode the dirt bike a little more...Kyle has all the gear for this ride!

Saturday night we met up with Uncle Jon, Auntie Sarah, and Reed and all went out for dinner to celebrate Grandma's birthday! The kiddos did great, especially since we had to wait a long time for our food!

Walking to the car with Auntie Sarah and Uncle Jon

On Sunday, we hung out around the house, walked the dogs, shot Kelley's dad's pistol, and went swimming. Annaliese loved being in the water!

And, since it was Father's Day, there were cards and gifts to open.

Sunday evening, after packing up all of our stuff, we headed over to Auntie Sarah and Uncle Jon's house for a Father's Day dinner...the food was delicious and Annaliese and Reed seemed to have fun playing!

Ready for a ride from Reed's Uncle Drew

With Great Grandpa Dean and Great Grandma Didi...we tried several shots...this was only one with everyone's eye's open. It's too bad they're not looking at the camera!!

A few pictures

Earlier this week, I was reminded that it's been awhile since I've posted anything on here. And it's not because we haven't been doing things...no, it's because the camera was put away in the closet and I didn't have many pictures!

Auntie Sarah and Reed came to town a few weekends ago and we were able to meet up with them, along with Sarah's mother-in-law for a play date at the park and dinner. Of course, there are no pictures (unless you check out Sarah's blog http://mcclarty.blogspot.com/2013/06/a-fast-trip-to-slo.html ) but it was cute to see Annaliese and Reed together!

Last weekend Grandma Kelley came out to baby-sit while I went to work one day. We were able to do some shopping, play outside and enjoy a nice dinner out while she was here. Again, limited pictures.

But I have gotten better the last few days and taken a few pictures of Annaliese around the house.
 Playing in her room

 Check out these curls!!

Annaliese loves climbing in and out of her carseat...

I found her trying to get into the drawer one morning while I was getting ready for the day:)

 Where's Annaliese?

I realize that my bedroom looks a bit messy, but please take note of the shoes...Annaliese brought them all from the living room back into our room and since the closet door was closed, she couldn't bring them into the closet...I just thought it was so cute!!
