Leavenworth and Lake Wenatchee

We've done two fun long weekend trips this summer. The first was a trip to Leavenworth and Lake Wenatchee at the end of June with my sisters and parents. We rented a house about 30 minutes outside Leavenworth, near Lake Wenatchee State Park. It happened to be the hottest weekend ever, with temps in the upper 90's in Lynden. Since we don't have air conditioning, it was the perfect time to get away to a house near water with air conditioning!

We spent a decent amount of time at the lake. The water temperature was in the 50's, so despite the warm air temps, it was still hard to spend too much time in the water!

We spent a morning at a nearby park along the Wenatchee River, but it quickly became too hot to be outside. Kyle and I took Mallory, Annaliese, and Lydia to the Nutcracker Museum and out for ice cream before heading back to the house.

So many Nutcrackers!

Each of the girls had their own scavenger hunt to complete before we could leave!

At the house, we spent our time playing games, playing ping pong and foosball, eating, putting together puzzles and even watching some Olympic Trials. It was relaxing and super enjoyable.

Walking down the driveway...it was quite steep!

On a hike...too many mosquitos to make it to the end, but the trail was fun!

We headed home fairly early on Monday morning in order to make it home in time for Haleigh to make it to cooking camp. Thankfully, our drive home was smooth and went fairly quickly...unlike the drive there where we were stopped for 30 minutes for a construction delay...or like Kels and Ben who got a flat tire on the way home.
Stopped for construction.

You know you've been waiting a long time when everyone is out of their cars!
