We started our Christmas celebrations the weekend after Thanksgiving by heading out to a local tree farm and cutting down our tree. We decorated the house, bought Christmas lights for outside, started our Christmas shopping earlier than normal, checked out the lighted boat parade in Fairhaven, and made Christmas cookies.

The girls had a Christmas performance at school called La Posada, which is a Latin tradition telling of the journey of Mary and Joseph on their way to Bethlehem. Annaliese was an angel and Haleigh was a shepherd. The kids did amazing!

On Thursday, December 20, we went over to Mom and Dad's house for our Hendricks' Christmas Party. We didn't have a ton of time because Kim and Thane still had to teach on Friday, but we were preparing to leave for California on Friday morning. We kept things simple by ordering pizza for dinner and spent the evening opening presents, drinking hot cider, and eating dinner! We let the kids go first and then set them up with a few episodes of their favorite shows while the adults opened gifts.

Even though the evening was short, it was filled with fun and we are so blessed to have such a wonderful family! Watching all the cousins play together is always so neat!
