Snowmageddon 2019

February brought with it some crazy cold, snowy weather that canceled school and shut down the town for nearly a week! Once things started to 'warm up' a bit, we headed up to the mountains for some cross-country skiing!

It is so fun to watch the girls improve at skiing! Annaliese did amazing and she and Kyle went ahead of Haleigh and I because she wanted to go faster. They found a hill and she loved skiing down it! We ate lunch by the river in what is becoming our 'normal lunch spot' and then headed back. Our goal is usually to ski longer than it takes us to get everyone all dressed in their ski clothes, and we succeeded! Haleigh is slow and steady and could probably walk faster than she skied, but she had fun! We built a snowman in the parking lot once we all made it back to the car.

Every time we get up to the mountains, we are reminded how blessed we are to live so close to Mt. Baker! It is so beautiful up there!

February at a glance

Here I am, once again thinking about how I haven't put any pictures up here recently! February has already come and gone and we are a week into March! Our month was filled with the regular activities of life, gymnastics, and several snow days! We made it to the mountains to go cross-country skiing, but also spent a lot of time indoors due to the cold, windy weather!

Snuggled together watching a show.

At the beginning of the month, we spent Super Bowl Sunday at Mom and Dad's house. Some of us watched the game, others ate snacks, played games, and painted nails.

A Belated Valentine's Day Celebration

Haleigh's class was scheduled to go to the fire station and have a Valentine's Day party last week, but due to all the snow/ice/cold weather we had last week, school was canceled and the party postponed until today. Kyle was originally planning on going, but he had things scheduled for this morning, so instead of him going, Lydia and I went along instead!

We met at the fire station and unfortunately, the crew was out on a call and nobody was there! Thankfully, one of the dads in our class is a fireman and was able to get us into the station and start our tour until the crew returned.

Owen went along too

After our tour, we went back to school and the kids had a little Valentine's party. It's always fun to be in the classroom and watch all the kids together! They had a snack, decorated cookies and did a little activity.

January Recap

I'm not quite sure what happened, but I didn't take many pictures during the month of January. And the ones I did take are quite random! But here they are, none-the-less!

Haleigh put this purse together...one of her Christmas presents!

And Annaliese made this pillow!

I found about 30 pictures of different magnet creations on my phone!

I decided I wanted to paint the family room...my mom came over and helped me!

It looks so much better than the dark brown!

I found Haleigh sleeping this way one night...it's hard to tell, but Shelby is curled up on the beanbag!
And that about sums up our month! We tried to get outside as much as we could, and spent the time inside playing trains, building with magnets, reading books, and doing a little redecorating! I have a new mantle display in the living room which is almost done and now that I have a newly painted family room, I need to decide how to decorate it.
