Kyle's recent adventures

I couldn't tell you anything about any of these pictures...but they have showed up in my account...and he will probably want to look back and remember something about them!

Kyle drove to Island Park, Idaho to meet up with some guy friends from California. They rented a house for a few days, ate lots of food, watched the eclipse, went swimming, and did a bit of hiking it looks like! He says it was a great trip! April 2024 guys?

Attempting a picture of the Grand Tetons...but it was too smokey to get a good view

Fancy smores...this one was called "the Pillsbury Flop"

The view from the rental house...looking down across the valley

Beautiful sunset!

Isn't driving fun!

Taking a lunch break along the Colombia River
After returning home from Idaho, he emptied his suitcase, did a load of laundry and packed his bags again! This time he flew to Orlando for a John Maxwell Leadership Training Conference. He is now a certified Life Coach!
That huge building is actually the hotel where the conference was held!

Headed to the airport...4:00 am!

Annaliese colored a picture and hid it in his luggage so he would find it when he got there!

Another school year is upon us!

Annaliese and Haleigh both started school last week...Annaliese is in Kindergarten and Haleigh is in P3...both at Evergreen Christian School in the Spanish Immersion Program. They were both very excited for the start of the school year! The first day we went in for a 20 minute meet-and-greet with their teachers.

Having a little fun in her classroom

Annaliese and Keziah in their classroom
Annaliese now goes to school five days/week. It is an 80% program, so she does a full day of school on Monday/Wednesday/Friday and half days on Tuesday/Thursday. She loves that three days a week she gets to bring a lunch and eat at school! So far she seems to be loving it and I am slowly starting to hear about the new kids that have joined the class this year and about the things that they do each day.

Haleigh goes two days/week, on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. She was very excited the first day and went right in and started coloring but apparently it was all downhill from there! I was told that there were a lot of tears and "I want my mommy" all morning! The second day was a little bit better but there were still tears. Cousin Mallory is in the same class and has been encouraging and trying to help comfort her throughout the day!

The theme for the year is the Fruit of the Spirit and Annaliese's class is focusing on loving/taking care of themselves, each other, and their community and God's creation. We are excited to see how both Annaliese and Haleigh learn and grow not only in their knowledge and love of Spanish and learning but also in who they are as children of God, created in his image.

August Wrap-up

We had a lot of fun during the month of August...from playdates with cousins to crafting at home to hiking by the Bay...and that doesn't include the adventures we had with Grandma and Grandpa!

A little crafting!

It's so fun to watch all three girls playing together!

Who needs pants?

Waiting for Grandma Tara! (She was coming to baby-sit!)

Baking zucchini-carrot-apple muffins

Making cookies with Auntie Kelsey

Finally hanging some of Papa Art's pictures in the living room!

Locust Beach...supposedly a hidden gem in Bellingham...but not a place we need to go back to (sketchy parking...steep trail...lots of homeless folk)

At the splash park...Mallory is drinking the water and Annaliese...well...I'm not quite sure what Annaliese is doing!

Date Night!

Last night Kyle and I found a babysitter to watch the girls and went out on a date! It's always so much fun! We went to Miniature World Family Fun Center in Birch Bay and played a round of mini-golf and then went out for dinner.

We tied:)
We ate dinner at a place called Northwater, a relatively new restaurant located in the Holiday Inn by the airport! They are doing a special creole-themed menu so I tried the jambalaya which was made with alligator meat! It was a bit spicy but delicious! Kyle went with the bison burger which was also very tasty!
