I honestly can't believe how fast the month of June flew by! I had to go back and look at the calendar and my photos to remember how we filled our days.
Our church hosted a three-day VBS, with a SCUBA theme. Annaliese and I both helped and Lydia and Haleigh participated. The focus was on God being our friend and it went really well! We had quite a few kids from outside our church, and several families were from the neighborhood and don't have a church they regularly attend. I was the team leader for the 3rd-5th graders, so most of my pictures are of them:)

Lydia had her next belt test for Taekwondo and the belt ceremony was held at Ferndale High School with all the USTA facilities in Whatcom County. There was a special demonstration and a lot of people received their black belts. It's always fun to watch some of the more advanced people, as well as to see just how many people do Taekwondo. We did decide to take a break for the summer, and we'll have to see if Lydia wants to continue in the fall.
For Christmas, Grandpa and Grandma gave everyone tickets to Science World in Vancouver. We finally found a date that would work for everyone! The original plan was to take Amtrak from Bellingham, but the timing didn't work out quite right. Instead, we all drove to Surrey and then took the SkyTrain downtown. Our stop was right across the street from Science World, so it worked out perfectly! After eating lunch, we roamed around, learning about electricity, the human body, rocks, illusions, and more! |

After we'd seen all the exhibits, we took the SkyTrain to the waterfront and then hopped on the SeaBus to North Vancouver. We found coffee, ice cream, and a spray park to hang out at before heading back home. It was a fun full day!
Shelby had a rough few days. She quit eating and became very lethargic. I thought she was going to fall down the stairs and had to carry her down them one morning. She was spending all her time sleeping and didn't have the energy to do anything. We were getting ready to head to Bremerton for a few days so brought her in to the vet to see what was going on. She was in kidney failure, and after a night of IV fluids and doing blood work, they diagnosed her with Addison's disease. We will pick her up from the vet later today...she's doing much better but needs daily medication for the rest of her life!

It was a pretty good month! We ended with a trip to Bremerton with the whole family, but that will be its own blog post. We also fit in a few swimming lessons, a few bike rides, and several trips to the library!
