Cultus Lake Camping Trip

Every summer, my parents and siblings get together for a weekend camping trip. Over the past few years, we've gone to several different places, and this year we decided to try Cultus Lake, just across the border. We stayed for 3 nights, spending our days fishing, kayaking, biking, and just enjoying our time together.

Kim and Thane brought along 2 kayaks and a stand-up paddle board so we spent a fair amount of time out on the water. Elias is into fishing right now and both he and Malachi brought their fishing poles along; Elias caught several fish and seemed to enjoy teaching his cousins how to fish!

I tried stand-up paddleboarding for the first time...so much fun!!!

Haleigh tripped and went running to Annaliese to console her!

Despite Kyle and Thane going on a bike ride based on a map of Cultus Lake, OR...Kim, Kelsey and I going for a run where Kim got stung by a bee and ending up with a swollen face...and Haleigh and Lydia not understanding that bedtime means staying in your sleeping bag and going to sleep...and a two-hour wait to get back across the border on our drive home...I think we all had a great time!

July Fun

The month of July was filled with lots of cousin time and a lot of playtime at home.

 

This past weekend was the Old Settler's Parade in Ferndale, and Kyle and the girls rode on the float for the Ferndale Chamber of Commerce. 

 

 

 



 One afternoon, Elias and Malachi came over; they created their own board game!

 We bought a basketball hoop for the front yard and we have all enjoyed getting to play! The girls are starting to get the hang of it and love to play with Kyle.

June Recap

School ended June 6 and we jumped right into summer mode! We’ve spent time hanging out with cousins, done some baking, played outside, and participated in a trail race, just to name a few of the many activities!

In the past, I've cut Annaliese's hair...but this time, we went and both got a haircut together!

First race...a 1/2 mile trail run!

Annaliese loved it! Haleigh made it past the first bend in the trail and decided
she didn't want to do it after all...maybe next year!
