Fourth of July Fun

We started off our July 4 with a hike down to the ocean at Point Whitehorn with Grandma, Grandpa, Auntie Kim and Uncle Thane. We were also joined by Thane's parents and his sister and brother-in-law and all the kids!

Haleigh, just relaxing on the beach

The tide was going out, so the longer we stayed, the more sand that appeared! Auntie Kim and Haleigh putting their toes in the water.
Auntie Kim also showed us lots of sea creatures like hermit crabs, sea slaters and a few other creatures I don't remember!

All worn out on the hike back to the car

Uncle Thane with quite the backpack...yes, there is a long pole for the umbrella and a bike attached!

After a short rest at home, we headed over to our friends, John and Mandi's house for an afternoon BBQ and a few fireworks.  We started off with a quick trip to the local ice cream store but an afternoon ice cream cone and then came home for some pool time and cornhole.

While we were finishing dinner and waiting for it to get a little bit darker, we enjoyed some adult conversation while all 5 kids played together in the other room. And, as can be expected when you have two 3-year-old girls, there was some singing and dancing to "Frozen."

Then we headed outside for fireworks!
 Keziah and Annaliese

 Haleigh, just brushing her hair:)

John (5 yrs old), Keziah, and Annaliese getting a little lesson on firework safety

We stayed at their house until 11:00pm and the girls did fantastic! There were a few neighbors doing some bigger fireworks that occasionally startled the girls, but overall they both enjoyed everything! As a bonus, Annaliese slept in until 9:30 Sunday morning and Haleigh didn't get up until 11:30!
