One of Haleigh's favorite things to do is dance. She loves to have music playing and will twirl, spin and jump all day long! Her current music of choice is 'Moana Radio' on Pandora and she likes to use a ribbon when she's dancing! In addition to dancing at home, she has been taking a dance class at Dancing for Joy. Her class is Creative Movement and is for 3-4 years olds; we opted to not do the end-of-the-year performance this year, but she has loved going to class each week!

Mother's Day
Annaliese and Haleigh were super excited about Mother's Day and started celebrating the week prior! I came home from work one night to find these cute cards and flowers sitting on the counter for me.
Sunday we went to church and then headed up to Canada to go to the zoo. The weather was absolutely gorgeous (sunny. blue sky. warm.) We had a picnic lunch and a relaxing time walking around looking at the animals. They were pretty active and we even got to watch them feed the lions and tiger!
On the Thursday before Mother's Day, I was invited to a Mother's Tea at school. Thankfully, the teachers all worked together and they put on one Tea for all the mom's of the P3, Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade Spanish kids. They provided tasty snacks, coffee, and tea and each of the classes did a little performance. They had also made us a little gift; it was such a fun morning! Unfortunately, Lydia wasn't feeling good and had a bit of a temp but at least Grandpa was around and since she didn't feel good, she was content to just sit in his arms the whole time!
Saturday afternoon we went over to Mom and Dad's house to continue celebrating...Kelsey and I went on a fabulous trail run on Galbraith Mtn before everyone else came over and then Dad grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, the kids played outside and we ate tasty chocolate mousse for dessert!

It was a great Mother's Day and it was so special to be able to celebrate with my mom as well as with my girls! They may drive me nuts on occasion, but they are also growing up so fast and I am trying to fully appreciate and enjoy each different stage they are in!

April
How can it be that this month is already over? April was a good month. We had several days of sunshine which meant lots of time playing outside and riding bikes! Kyle's been busy working and his first full month of being self-employed has been quite successful! Lydia still isn't walking, Annaliese is learning how to read and Haleigh is just as happy and smiley as ever!
Kyle and I realized that we hadn't had a date night in awhile, and we were able to get two of them! For the first one, we checked out a cute restaurant Lovitt, in Fairhaven and then went to Rook and Rogue, a board game pub in Bellingham where we played games like Oregon Trail (I kept dying.)
Our second date was for his 35th birthday! We went out for dinner, ran a few errands (how fun!) and then went to the Spring Swing Fling in Ferndale, a free swing dance event! We haven't done swing dancing since well before Annaliese was born, but this seemed like it could be fun. We looked up a few YouTube videos and practiced a little bit before we went and had a great time! It made us want to practice and learn a bit more!
We have found that when it's not raining, we need to take advantage of it and get outside! We tried a new hike that Kyle had come across quite awhile ago and wanted to try. The girls needed lots of encouragement, but we made it to the end of the trail...which didn't have quite the view that the book had described, but was pretty none-the-less.

And since there were quite a few sunny days, we spent lots of time outside!

And of course there was lots of playing inside- dancing, coloring, building, and cooking!
Kyle took Annaliese to her first concert. They went and saw David Crowder; Annaliese had a good time but it was late and loud and since she can't read yet, she couldn't read the words to the songs. I think in another year or so, she will definitely want to go again!
To round out our month of fun events, Annaliese had her spring music concert. It was K-4th grade and was based on the Eric Carle book "The Tiny Seed." Because it was only a few classes, each class sang multiple songs and multiple times throughout the whole concert. Annaliese has been practicing her songs at home and she loves being on stage!
