10 Months!

Lydia is 10 months old as of last week Tuesday! She continues to have a wonderful personality, spending the majority of her time smiling and hanging out with her sisters! She loves to be around them and it is amazing how well she puts up with their antics.

Teeth: 4. All on the bottom. And there is no indication that any more are trying to come in.

Food: Her lack of teeth isn't slowing her down at all! Lydia loves food! She will eat most of the same things that we eat. Recent favorites include eggs, bananas, cheerios, chicken, rice, sweet potatoes and steak. She also enjoys pancakes, avocado and macaroni and cheese! She prefers to have finger foods and feed herself as opposed to us feeding her with a spoon. While Lydia enjoys tomato-based foods like spaghetti, we have discovered that they cause quite the diaper rash so we try to avoid them if possible. We have tried to introduce a sippy cup with water but so far she hasn't figured that out.
I am still nursing her; she usually gets milk 4-5 times/day. This is still going well although she has started to bite, especially when she is distracted!

Clothes: I just packed up all the 6 month stuff and brought out the 9 month bins! She can actually still fit into the 6 month outfits, but they are getting a little bit snug.

Activities: Lydia is very easy-going. She is content to sit on the floor by herself with a basket of toys but she also likes to be around her sisters and part of whatever they are doing. She lets them carry her around, get her dressed or change her diaper! Most everything goes into her mouth at this point. Lydia enjoys swinging, going for a run in the stroller, taking baths and eating! She isn't crawling yet, but she will push herself backwards if she's on her tummy or rotate in circles if she's sitting up. She also is doing a lot more rolling over and will frequently move across the room that way!

Baker Lake Camping

Our goal for this summer was to go camping at least twice. Last weekend we went for the first time out to Baker Lake, located in the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. We stayed at Horseshoe Cove Campground and loved it! We borrowed Kim and Thane's pop-up camper and had perfect weather! I did forget a few things...the hamburgers for dinner, hashbrowns and sausage for breakfast, a sweatshirt and swimsuit for Lydia...but it all worked out!

They wanted to do the dishes!

We wanted to go for a hike, so one morning we packed lunch and started driving towards Blue Lake; unfortunately part way up the road, we encountered a lot of snow across the road! It was too much to attempt to drive through, so we turned around, found a little pull-out on the road and had a picnic lunch in the back of the truck! There was a waterfall close by, so we 'hiked' up the road to take a closer look at it!

It's a bit cold!

Back at our campsite, we headed down to the lake. It has a nice swimming area and Annaliese could not wait to get in the water! It was a bit breezy and where we were was in the shade in the afternoon, so it wasn't ideal swimming weather, and we only lasted a very short time!

We also found an Interpretive Trail close by that was a 0.5 mile loop; we walked it slowly, reading all the signs and looking around and then decided that we would do it two more times a little quicker, just for the exercise!

Kyle and Annaliese went for a bike ride one afternoon. They went down a dirt road that led to some beautiful views of the lake and the mountains!

I think everyone could have slept better- the girls had a really hard time falling asleep each night and Haleigh woke up in the middle of the night every night...which meant that Lydia also woke up...so we were all quite tired but still had a good time and are looking forward to our next camping trip in a few weeks!
